Unauthorized tampering with external current transformers has long been a major cause of electricity theft in South America. This illegal modification results in significant power line losses and economic damage for utility companies.
To address this, our engineering team developed a specialized Anti-Tamper Built-in Current Transformer. This unit is specifically designed for oil-immersed distribution transformers used in the South American market.
The metering sensing unit is fully enclosed within the transformer oil tank. External terminals or exposed wiring points are completely eliminated in this Anti-Tamper Built-in Current Transformer design.
This physically prevents unauthorized users from short-circuiting or bypassing the sampling circuit. It fundamentally secures the metering point, ensuring accurate billing and grid stability at all times.
Our Anti-Tamper Built-in Current Transformer supports Class 0.5 and Class 0.2s accuracy levels. It is fully optimized for 60Hz grid frequencies common in South American countries like Brazil and Colombia.
The insulation system is engineered for long-term reliability in hot transformer oil environments. These CTs meet rigorous IEC 61869-2 standards, ensuring durability and measurement precision under heavy load conditions.
Each Anti-Tamper Built-in Current Transformer undergoes strict accuracy verification and insulation resistance tests. Our products are now mass-supplied to leading transformer brands across the South American region.
With decades of export experience, we provide tailored CT customization for specific regional grid challenges. Partner with us to strengthen your transformer’s security and help utilities recover lost revenue through better metering.
