Customer Demand: Project Application Background

The power company has recently completed the replacement of billing meters, with newly installed meters matched with 0.5S class high-precision current transformers. Given frequent electricity theft incidents among local users, the company intends to retain the original old meters. By adopting dual verification of new and old meters, it can accurately detect electricity theft behaviors.

To this end, the company plans to install split-core current transformers and connect them to traditional old meters for practical use.

Product Technical Parameter Requirements

Current Ratio: 50/5A, 100/5A, 200/5A, 400/5A
Rated Burden: Low load condition; ideal value 1VA, minimum acceptable 0.5VA
Transformer Inner Diameter: Suitable for primary cables with diameter of 12mm to 20mm; unified general aperture is recommended, preferably 24mm or above
Operating Environment: Half for indoor installation and half for outdoor installation; it is suggested to manufacture all products in outdoor standard specification uniformly
Secondary Outlet Wire: Integrally molded secondary connecting wire attached to transformer body, wire length: 1.5m – 2m. No external wiring terminals and protective covers are required to prevent unauthorized modification and damage to junction boxes by users
Anti-theft Seal Configuration: The power company uses anti-theft seal wires for locking meters, cabinets and wiring covers. Broken seals are regarded as intentional man-made damage. Reserved threading holes shall be designed on the transformer body for easy installation of anti-theft seals.

This is split-core outdoor waterproof type current transformer with 24mm inner diameter, integrated molded outgoing wire and 5A secondary output current.

Core Accuracy Class (Core Requirement)

For cost-effectiveness, the customer accepts products of Class 1 accuracy. Meanwhile, the customer will formulate procurement specifications based on our suggestions. We recommend supplying products with higher accuracy within the load range of 0.5~1VA and primary current specifications of 50/100/200/400A. This solution brings no substantial cost increase, raises the supply threshold for competitors and strengthens our market competitiveness.

Solution

To meet high precision requirements, the product adopts nanocrystalline magnetic core. Under low load of 0.5~1VA, the accuracy of split-core current transformers in 100/5A, 200/5A and 400/5A specifications reaches Class 0.5, while the 50/5A specification stably achieves Class 1 accuracy.

Equipped with 30mm large inner diameter, the product is compatible with mainstream primary cables of 12-20mm with strong universality. It adopts handle locking structure, which can firmly clamp cables by rotating the handle. Special seal holes are reserved on the body to install anti-theft seals, effectively avoiding unauthorized disassembly and electricity tampering.

All products are designed in unified outdoor waterproof grade, equipped with 1.5-2m integrally molded secondary wires without exposed terminals, fully meeting safety and anti-vandalism standards.
